Louisiana Delta Ballet is happy to announce its season for 2024-2025  We begin our 21st season  with a magical Christmas performance, "Twas the Night Before a Cajun Christmas". where we begin in Santa's workshop where exciting things are taking place!!   And don’t forget to save the date – February 28, 2025 – for our annual fundraiser, “Dancing With the Louisiana Stars”  which supports our season.  Back by popular demand, join us on Sunday, April 6. 2025 for "Power and Grace", the LDB original ballet created by our Artistic Director Missy Crain. Join LDB this season and let us share our passion with you!

Twas the Night Before a Cajun Christmas

The ballet begins in Santa’s workshop with his busy elves preparing for Christmas. Santa is presented with a special gift at midnight; a new “motorized” sleigh! The reindeer are excited to spend Christmas Eve with their families this year! Santa takes off and is just about finished with his Christmas Eve deliveries when he flies over New Orleans and lands in Louisiana Swamp Land. Little does he know that he is being watched by a devious Swamp Witch named Marie Laveau. She steals his new sleigh thinking it is a magic sleigh and Santa finds himself stranded in the swamp. As the story unfolds, Santa discovers many friends that help him finish his deliveries. Alligators “tango” their way into Santa’s heart, Lightning Bugs lead Santa to the Swamp Witch, Moby the crawfish gathers his friends to help, as the beautiful moon beams shine brightly in the night. In the end, the Swamp Witch has a change of heart when Santa explains THE REAL MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS IS THROUGH FAITH, BELIEVING, LOVE, AND FRIENDSHIP. The performance includes state-of-the-art sets and scenery and breathtaking special effects that make this show a next level event.

Power and Grace

Louisiana Delta Ballet is indeed fortunate to have Missy Crain as our Artistic Director.  Among her many contributions and accomplishments, one stands above the rest – the LDB original ballet, “Power and Grace''.   Inspired while sitting in her Church listening to a sermon about what we can “give in return” for the blessings in our life, Mrs. Crain realized her gift!  This inspirational work features our amazing LDB dancers along with local and professional vocalists and community leaders sharing the stage to bring the audience an uplifting performance like none other in our area.  Upon completion of the ballet, Mrs. Crain told our company dancers, “If we perform it, they will come,” and did they ever!  When it was first performed, there were over 1500 people in attendance.  Since its debut in 2000,  “Power and Grace'' has become a well-known community favorite, and it continues to inspire audiences of all ages.  Although it is not performed annually, LDB has become known for this signature work and the audiences keep coming!
